Join a wonderful group of people and make some lifelong friends NOW!!!

If you are interested in volunteering, leading projects, networking and having fun you can do all of this and more as a Lions club member. As a Lion you will perform local volunteer work to improve your community and  communities around the world.

We have served continuously raising funds and assisting wherever we have been able to.

In determining how to spend our funds fairly, we have developed a formula to ensure we assist in a wide range of community sectors.

In Aged Care, for example, we offer both goods and services.  The garden at Bluecare Respite Centre has been reconstructed by our members and members of the Men's Shed, with the support and generosity of local businesses.

We have also purchased a comfortable armchair for the visitors to the Centre.

Our Club has given a television set, software, and ipads for the residents of Neilson Home.  We also assist them at many of their fund-raising sausage sizzles.

Local schools have also been the beneficiaries of our Club's funds.

Mansfield State School received books and stationery after the fire and a device for assisting the teaching/learning process with hearing-impaired students.

We helped to fund a unique parent-teacher course at Seville Road State School.  At Mt Gravatt East State School we gave funds for school books and targeted purchases for their Fife Band.

Selected primary levels at all schools are offered the opportunity to participate in the Fire Poster and the Peace Poster Competitions, promoted by Lions Club International.

In 2013 we staged our second successful Youth of the Year Competition with senior students from Citipointe College, Lourdes Hill College and Mansfield State High School participating.

Our Club has donated funds to many health and welfare associated organizations, such as those research foundations supported by Australian Lions: Australian Children's Research Foundation; Lions Medical Research Foundation; Lions Hearing Dogs; and Leukemia Research are just a few examples.  St Barts Youth Hostel, Meals on Wheels, Outward Bound Movement and Lifeline are just some of the community groups to whom we have given donations.  Gifts of food, especially at Christmas, have given us the opportunity to offer Lions Christmas Cake parcels to the Homeless and Meals on Wheels.

In recent times disaster relief has consumed a good proportion of our earnings.  We gave donations, through other Lions Clubs, for the victims of fire in Tasmania and Victoria; to earthquake victims in Christchurch; and to flood victims in Queensland regions, and more recently, to flood victims in North Bundaberg.

These are just some of the ways in which our Club has honoured the Lions motto of  We Serve  All of our members are dedicated to serving their community, and we would love to have new members to help us continue to expand our endeavours

.
